Winter Warming Veggie Stew with Onion and Sage Dumplings

This is a super tasty, comforting, quick stew I wanted to share here. I have given the vegetarian recipe version, since the vegetables and spices are what really makes this work. However, if you fancy turning this into a chicken stew ( which is what I did) just use chicken stock instead and add some cooked chicken just before adding the dumplings. I used some leftovers from a roast chicken and it was great. I hope you enjoy it! 😉

Bulgarian Easter Bread (Kozunak)

We always have kozunak in Bulgaria for easter. This year I attempted to make one for the first time and it turned out really good. It brought me back to my memories of grandma kneading this massive yellowy bread and the vanilla aroma in the house. She always made a little one for the kids to try as we were quite inpatient.

This is a very rich eggy bread, similar to brioche or the italian panettone cake. It can be frozen and also works great in a bread pudding. Continue reading

Banoffee Pie

This is my version of benoffee pie. The toffee I made for it was really nice as was the whole pie.

I tried to make this benoffee as healthy as possible without compromising on taste by substituting condensed milk with evaporated milk, using unrefined sugar and sweeteners, and opting for whipping cream instead of double cream. You do need the butter though, I have tried before with margarine and it’s just not the same. If benoffee pie can ever be good for you, that’s the one! 😉 haha… Continue reading

Wholemeal Seeded Bread
